Thank you for all of your interest in our school budget. From what I have read, most of you now understand what a school budget is and how we spend it in school.
However what you want to know more about is the cost of things in school. The School Council did do a breakdown of this in an assembly but only on the main things.
So myself and Miss Lyle, who is in charge of improving our Maths in school, have decided that we are going to address this in MY MONEY WEEK ON THE WEEK COMMECNING 25TH JUNE. This is actually our Creating and Performing week in our Olympic Curriculum but we think that it will be a good way to develop Maths skills about money through the cost of running our school. Let us know any ideas you have on this in the meantime and keep researching yourself!
Today our Investors in Pupils team did a learning walk to make sure all the classes are keeping upto date with class management. We were very impressed with how you could all talk about your IIP targets. However, Lots of you were still unsure about the budget despite our assemblies. Therefore tomorrow we are going to do another budget assembly. Your class teachers have been asked to ensure they address it further in lessons so you can ask them any questions you’re still unsure of. Please write on here anything you want to find out.

As you know we hired a new caretaker a few weeks ago called Mr Crowther. I spoke to him today and he is really happy at the school and everyone has made him very welcome. Next week, the school council are going to interview him about his role in school. What would you like to ask him?
We are still working towards the Investors in Pupils award and now have the date for our assessment-23rd May 2012!

7. Class responsibilities
Around the school:
1. Responsibilities taken on by the children e.g. Play Leaders, librarians, Prefects, School Council are just to mention a few!
2. Everyweek we have an Investors in Pupils assembly linked to the 5 areas; Learning, attendance, behaviour, induction and classroom management.
3. Entreprise club so undestand how to make money.
4. Staff roles around school.
What else do you think we can do to improve our Pupil Voice and understanding of how the school is run?
INDUCTION BOOKS
Today our IIP team on the school council collected all the induction books and videos from your classes to see which ones were excellent. We found some superb examples of books but some of them were not very useful for a new child in your class. So we have decided to put together a Success Criteria of what makes an excellent book. What do you think a new child needs to know when coming into a class at Bowling Park Primary? Give me your ideas and we’ll include them in our success criteria that we’re going to give to your teachers.
